Lockdown has been tricky and sad for soo many reasons but it has been positive too. Many people have started to explore their artistic side creating paintings, writing books, knitting and sewing, just how we all used to entertain ourselves before TV, film and social media!! I discovered an initiative which coincided with lockdown. I love a challenge and jumped on the opportunity. The project is to produce something creative each day for 100 days. It sounds simple but once you are 10 days in it starts to become something huge! Everyone starts on the 31st Jan 2020. Excited at the prospect I got started. My idea to produce a small piece of artwork using only 3 acrylic paints and additional mark making material. I also focused the project around coronavirus. Each painting contains the daily statistics for the number of cases for the day recorded, the number of vaccinations given and sadly the number of deaths. I am only 19 days into this project and I am finding it hard and enlightening! Hard to be spontaneous and just create using a limited pallet and a small piece of paper (195mm x 195mm).
